We wish all our guests a successful 2023

In the past months we have further upgraded our lodge, packages, tours and offerings. A big thank you to all our guests who had visited us in the past year despite the travel challenges. Without you we would not be able to do what we most love; hosting you, sharing with your the great wild-life and nature in the Amazon Brasil.

Our rooms have received a face lift making your rests even more enjoyable at the lodge. We had added some new tours thanks to our close relationship with the local tripe leaders and villages. They are happy to share their life, experience and natural reserve area with you when here.

Our excursion boat has received an upgrade so we can get closer to the lagoons, see more of the animal environment while at the same time fully respecting the great nature here.

We wish you, your family, friends and beloved ones big happiness, success and joy.

Don’t hesitate to contact us for questions or your travel ideas.

Best regards,

Chris, Roy, family and the entire team

New Tour - Native Indian Acai Berry Production

We introduced a new package with a unique tour. Visit a local native Indian Açai berry production and be part of it. This is a very exclusive and special visit we are able to offer due to our good relationship with the genuine local community.

The Açai fruit is world famous for its delicious and energising taste served in a bowl.

During this special tour you learn how and where these berries are harvested. Moreover, a traditional local production explains how the Açai berries get processed to be then ready to be used in different recipes. The local community will allow you to take part of the production and take with you a sample you had processed together with the team.

Visitors coming to Brazil might have already received a breakfast bowl with fruits, that also contained the deep purple Açai base looking like yoghourt. In many hot areas (i.e. at the beach side) Açai is also served as a cold basis, which makes it very pleasant to enjoy during a hot day.

Explore our tours page where you also see the Açai package option. Don’t hesitate to contact us for questions.

Best regards,

Chris, Roy, family and team

The amazon region in Brazil is still a rare ecosystem rich in nature and animal variations. Our lodge is based in a natural reserve area overlooking the rio Negro. From Manaus, we pick-up our guests for existing journeys, hospitality at our lodge and fantastic excursions.

Maybe you are still looking for some inspirations for your travelling plans and for visiting a unique region with a rich wildlife. Amazon Brazil is definitely worth a visit. We would be glad having you here hosting you at our lodge in the rainforest at the Rio Negro.

The dry season from July to December

The Amazon region is very beautiful to visit no matter which month you chose. The weather patterns of the rainforest in Brazil do not change too much from month to month. However, we do have a more wet and a more dry season here.

Since July we have turned into the dry season, which last until December and has a few key characteristics to offer.

  • Temperatures are hotter during this season
  • They  vary between 26 and 40°C (78-104°F) during the day
    (nights are cooler)
  • Rivers are lower and contain less water
  • This season brings you more luck for fishing
  • It will be easier to spot birds, although a good guide will spot them for you any time
  • This season brings less mosquitos. However, our lodge is in an almost mosquitos free zone anyway (we are just lucky here)
  • It is a very good time to sport caimans as the lower water brings you even closer to the banks
  • Fewer rainy days, although you need to still expect sporadic showers, which sometimes can be heavy

We invite you to explore our great tours and excursions. The lodge has a unique view overseeing the Rio Negro. Don’t hesitate to contact us for questions. We would be glad hosting you at our place and show you the beautiful wild-life and jungle here.

Kind regards,

Chris

The comfortable temperature season January - July

The Amazon region can be visited any time of the year. We often get asked which months are the best ones to visit us or the Amazon region in general. You really can't go wrong whenever you like to come here.

The weather patterns of the rainforest in Brazil do not change too much from season to season. However, we have a more dry and a more wet season here. The wet season has a few key characteristics and lasts from January to July.

  • Temperatures are slightly cooler during this season
  • They  vary between 23-30°C (73-86°F) during the day
    (nights are cooler)
  • Rivers are higher and contain more water
  • Plants and nature are very green and really beautiful
  • This season brings more mosquitos. However, our lodge is in an almost mosquitos free zone (we are just lucky here)
  • Expect sporadic daily showers, which sometimes can be heavy. But the warm temperature dries everything quickly

We invite you to explore our Webpage for great tours we offer. The lodge has a marvellous view over the Rio Negro. Don’t hesitate to contact us for questions. We would be glad hosting you at our place to experience the extraordinary jungle and wild-life.

Best regards,

Chris

Why the Olympics 2016 are a great opportunity to visit the Amazon, Brazil

As you already know, Brazil will be hosting this year’s Olympic Games between August 5th and 21st 2016. We are delighted bringing together so many athletes and visitors from all over the world.

In the Amazon region we are a bit remote from the Olympic games. However, this season provides a great opportunity to visit other great parts of Brazil and outside of Rio. If you will be in Brazil and wanted to always visit the North, please contact us. It is a great time for fantastic tours and travel in the Amazon region and along the Rio Negro.

What’s special in the North right now?

  • We are just turning into the try season which last from July to December
  • Plants are very green, nature is rich and rivers full of water
  • Excursions enable all variations while the weather is not so hot yet; a perfect time

Please look at our Webpage for detailed information. And don’t hesitate to contact us for questions. We would be glad showing you a fantastic part of Brazil with an extraordinary wild-life.

Warmest regards,

Roy

A blog to keep you up-to-date with news from our lodge and wild-life

For 2016 we decided to start regularly blogging on interesting topics, news and updates related to our lodge and tours. So what you read here is our first proud blog.

When you live and work at a specific place, you usually take many things for granted. And it is logical because you see and experience it everyday. And sometimes we then forget that what is a daily life to one person might be unique for somebody else.

Here in the Amazon region we believe we are very gifted when it comes to nature, animal richness and diversification. Therefore, we will share special moments with our readers, rare animals we might have seen or new developments in our lodge.

We wish you, your family, friends and beloved ones a successful year. May all your good wishes and plans come true.

Stay tuned and contact us if you have questions. We are happy to hearing from you.

Greetings from Rio Negro,

Roy
